MWL/The X Conquest - February 10, 2008

Home News Shows Roster Championships

"Alright, ladies and gentlemen, the time has come to reveal the match card for MWL Conquest, on February 10, 2008!  First, starting the show will be--"  Michael began, as Anthony Jacobs appeared on the stage, microphone in hand.

"Michael Jamborgh!"  AJ interrupted.  "I demand a title shot at Conquest!"

"Why did you have to do this now?  Alright, tell you what, AJ.  At Conquest, you'll have two matches.  If you win both of them, come Fallen Rites, or anytime before it, I'll give you a shot at any title you want."  Michael answered.  "But get ready, 'cause this is where it gets good.  You already have your Last Man Standing match with Allan Martel, that'll be match number two.  But at Conquest, your first match is against THIS MAN!"  Michael announced, as Panzer stepped out onto the stage.  "Now, let's make the match good, let's go with...  A table match.  Sounds good to me!"  Michael laughed, as Panzer lunged at AJ, who proceeded to scurry backstage.

"Now then, moving on, opening the show will be AJ versus Panzer in a table match.  Then, AJ will keep going, and will face Allan Martel in a Last Man Standing match.  And now, we get to our title matches.  First of all, Genbu will be defending the MWL-CAW Championship at Conquest, in a Fatal 4-Way Ladder match that will involve, of course the champion, but also Red Norton, Magnum, and Kairez!"  Michael announced.

"Then, we've got the rematch from a couple of weeks ago.  Seiryu and Kouryuu will defend the MWL World Tag Team Championship against the Asian Persuasion in a tornado tag team Hell in a Cell match!  And here come our big matches!"  Michael continued.

"We will lower, from the arena ceiling, the single most vicious structure in professional wrestling history -- the Elimination Chamber!"  Michael shouted.  "Two matches will be held in that bad boy, the first being a six-man, tornado tag team match.  It will be Team MWL, represented by Viper, Shane Warner, and the MWL World Heavyweight Champion, Nicholas Hunter, facing Team X, represented by Yugo Ryan, Catastrophe, and MWL North American Champion, Lino.  Then, after that, we'll have one more spectacle for you all.  The MWL World Lightweight Championship will be up for grabs in the Chamber, when it will be Scott Froelich versus Spike Norton, versus David Hitz, versus Jim Norris, versus Christopher Martel, versus Byakko, with the last man standing walking out with the title!  Ladies and gentlemen, that is MWL Conquest, good night."  Michael stated, dropping the microphone as Michael and Shane made their exit.

"Hello, ladies and gentlemen, this is Danny Tieso here with my broadcast partner, Chad Vritska, bring to you MWL versus the X Conquest!"  Danny announced.

"This one isn't TECHNICALLY MWL versus the X, only one match is really centered around it..."  Chad interrupted.  "Best not to get worked up about it this month, Danny, or else we might end up on the ass end this time around."

    "Aaw..."  Danny whined.

"Fine!  If you want to keep score so bad, MWL and the X are both in three matches."  Chad spat.  "And there's a title on the line in two of them..."

"Oh, that's right!  I almost forgot about the title matches tonight!"  Danny gasped.

"Simply genius.  How did you ever manage to get this job, anyway?"  Chad sighed.  "Actually, you know what, piss on it!  I'm gonna go ask Michael that, myself!"  With that, Chad stood and made his exit, as Danny tried to stop him, failing.

"Uhh...  Michael Jamborgh has ordered that tonight, Anthony Jacobs compete in two matches, booked due to his actions against other members of the MWL roster.  Michael has announced that if Anthony can defeat both of his opponents tonight, he will be granted a shot at any title he chooses between now and Fallen Rites in March.  The first match in AJ's gauntlet is a normal singles bout against the returning Panzer, and his second match is a Last Man Standing match against Allan Martel.  Let's head down to the ring for part one of AJ's gauntlet!"  Danny announced.

Match 1: Anthony Jacobs v. Panzer

"Hey, Michael--!"  Chad began, pushing the door to Michael Jamborgh's office open.

"Aah, Chad, just who I wanted to see!"  Michael stated.

    "Huh?"  Chad asked, confused.

"Chad, please, sit down.  I have an offer for you that I think you'll find hard to refuse..."  Michael grinned.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Stevan Corber here, with Anthony Jacobs' next opponent, one half of Instant Epic Win, the one and only, Allan Martel!"  Stevan announced.

"AJ, if they're playing this on the titantron, and I'm sure they are, I've got a message from our friends and family up in Canadia..."  Allan stated.

    "Canada."  Stevan interjected.

"That's what I said, Stevan!"  Allan shouted.  "All the Martels and the friends of the family back home are watching this, and they're rooting for me to tear your ass apart!  Get ready AJ, because you won't be walking out of the building tonight.  Tonight I'll have my revenge for you screwing me out of my spot in the North American Championship Tournament!  Tonight, AJ, is your LAST."  Allan spat, making his exit.

"Allan Martel versus Anthony Jacobs, Last Man Standing, is NEXT!"  Stevan announced.

Match 2: Last Man Standing - Allan Martel v. Anthony Jacobs

"What'd Michael want?"  Danny asked, as Chad sat back down in his seat.

"Oh, nothing."  Chad answered.  "Now, back to the card!  Our next match is a Fatal 4-Way Ladder match for the MWL-CAW Championship.  The undefeated champion, Genbu, defends his title against the likes of Red Norton, Magnum, and former MWL World Heavyweight Champion Kairez."

"Should be a good match, and the odds are really stacked against the X!"  Danny laughed.

"Right.  Well, the reigning champion, Genbu, stands six-foot-nine, and weighs in at two hundred and seventy-nine pounds.  He is the longest reigning champion in MWL history, and has held his title since August 26, 2007 after defeating Panzer at MWL Domination."  Chad explained.

"Challenger number one is a former MWL World Heavyweight Champion.  He stands six-foot-six and weighs two hundred and forty-six pounds, he is the only man, aside from Nicholas Hunter, to defeat Yugo Ryan for the MWL World Heavyweight Championship.  He is Kairez!"  Danny announced.

"Challenger number two is a star of MWL's tag team division.  He stands a whopping six-foot-ten, and weighs just two hundred and fifty-six pounds, he is one half of the X's tag team, the Norton Brothers, and is the son of the MWL legend Big Papa Norton, he is Red Norton!"  Chad continued.

"And challenger number three is a former MWL World Tag Team Champion.  He stands six-foot-five, weighs two hundred and sixty-four pounds, and has competed in several matches for the MWL World Heavyweight Championship, coming up short each time.  Ladies and gentlemen, this is Magnum!"  Danny stated.  "Now, let's head to the arena for the match."

    Match 3: MWL-CAW Championship - Fatal 4-Way Ladder Match: (C) Genbu v. Kairez v. Red Norton v. Magnum

"Oh my god.  I was dead sure Genbu was gonna win!"  Chad muttered.

"The X is in the lead..."  Danny whined.

"Settle down, we've still got two chances to mop the floor with 'em.  ANYWAY!  Up next is the tag title match, so...  The reigning champions are the Ssu-Ling's Seiryu and Kouryuu, a team that has yet to be defeated.  They weigh in at a combined weight of five hundred and twenty-seven pounds.  This is their second reign, and they've held the titles since MWL Uprising on November 18, 2007."  Chad explained.

"Their opponents are the Asian Persuasion, the fastest-rising stars in MWL today.  This is their second attempt to win the MWL World Tag Team Championship.  They weigh in at a combined weight of four hundred and twenty-eight pounds."  Danny began.

"Wait, I understand that Stevan Corber is standing by with Team MWL backstage.  Stevan?"  Chad interrupted.

    * * *

"Stevan Corber here, with Team MWL, three participants in tonight's first Elimination Chamber bout, Nicholas Hunter, Shane Warner, and Viper!"  Stevan announced.  "Guys, tonight you face the founding fathers of the X in Yugo Ryan, Lino, and Catastrophe.  Those three men all held championship gold when the X formed, does that intimidate you at all?"

"Stevan, I'm the MWL World Heavyweight Champion.  I beat Yugo fair and square for this belt.  I know I can beat him.  He won't be a problem.  What I'm worried about is if we end up on the ass end of the numbers game.  Someone will be outnumbered, and I hope that that someone isn't on our team."  Nick stated, as he and Shane made their exit.

"What about you, Viper?"  Stevan asked.

"Suffice it to say, I'm confident I'm on the winning team."  Viper answered, before walking off.

Match 4: MWL World Tag Team Championship - Hell in a Cell: (C) Seiryu & Kouryuu v. The Asian Persuasion

"And the Ssu-Ling retain!"  Danny announced.

"Big surprise."  Chad muttered.  "Now then, you know what time it is, Danny?"

"Time for MWL to kick some X ass!"  Danny shouted.

"The X is represented in the following match by its founder, former two-time MWL World Heavyweight Champion, Yugo Ryan, and former MWL World Tag Team Champions, Lino and Catastrophe.  The three of them weigh in at a combined weight of seven hundred and fifty-six pounds."  Chad stated.

"And MWL is represented by three of its best!  Current reigning MWL World Heavyweight Champion, Nicholas Hunter, the first-ever MWL North American Champion, Shane Warner, and former Cross-Atlantic Wrestling star, Viper!  They weigh in at a combined weight of seven hundred and sixty-one pounds!"  Danny announced.

"For those of you unfamiliar with the Elimination Chamber, here's how it works.  Six men enter.  Two are randomly selected to start the match, while the other four are restrained in a glass cell.  Every minute, a new wrestler enters the bout from his cell.  The match works on elimination rules, and the last man standing is declared the winner."  Chad explained.

"However, since this is a six-man tornado tag-style match, rather than the last man standing, it will be the last team standing that will get the victory."  Danny stated.

"Now then, shall we go to the arena to witness this MWL versus the X match?"  Chad asked.

    "We shall."  Danny grinned.

Match 5: Elimination Chamber - Six-Man Tornado Tag: Team MWL (Nicholas Hunter, Shane Warner, & Viper) v. Team X (Yugo Ryan, Lino, & Catastrophe)

As the three members of Team MWL celebrated in the ring after their victory, the structure began to rise, as Nicholas Hunter was handed back his MWL World Heavyweight Championship belt.  He climbed onto the middle turnbuckle and showed the belt to the crowd.  As he did, he was knocked over the ropes and to the floor by a hard blow to the back.  Viper stood where Nicholas just was, then made his way to Shane Warner, blindsiding him.  Yugo climbed back into the ring, along with Lino and Catastrophe, as Viper posed.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to introduce to you, the newest member of the X, Viper!"  Yugo announced, as Nicholas Hunter began to force himself to his feet.  The four members of the X then made their exit, as Nicholas and Shane shouted back at them.

    * * *

"WHAT?!"  Danny yelled.  "Are you serious?!"

"Would that win count toward the X, or MWL?"  Chad pondered.

"Nope, screw this, I can't take any more of this, tonight.  See you next month, Chad."  Danny spat, removing his headset and throwing it down on the table, as he made his exit.

"Okay, then.  Time for the main event, an Elimination Chamber match for the MWL World Lightweight Championship.  First up, the champion.  Scott Froelich weighs in tonight at two hundred and seventeen pounds, and stands six-foot-three.  He is currently in his third reign as MWL World Lightweight Champion.  Challenger number one is Jim Norris.  He weighs in at two hundred and sixteen pounds, and stands six-foot-three.  Challenger number two is David Hitz.  David weighs in tonight at two hundred and sixteen pounds, and stands six-foot-three, like Jim Norris.  Challenger number three is Byakko.  The White Tiger stands six-foot-two, and weight two hundred and thirty-two pounds.  Challenger number four is also a member of the X, and one half of the Norton Brothers tag team.  Spike Norton weighs in at two hundred and twenty-nine pounds and stands six-foot-seven.  The last challenger, Christopher Martel, weighs in tonight at two hundred and twenty-five pounds, and stands six-foot-five.  Now, let's go down to the arena for our final bout of the evening."  Chad announced.

Main Event: Elimination Chamer - MWL World Lightweight Championship: (C) Scott Froelich v. Jim Norris v. David Hitz v. Byakko v. Spike Norton v. Christopher Martel

As the structure lifted toward the ceiling of the arena, Nicholas Hunter appeared on the stage, making his way down to the ring, his MWL World Heavyweight Championship belt in hand.  Jim Norris moved toward the camera, showing the belt, and holding out all the fingers on one hand.  "Five times, baby!"  Jim shouted, as Nick entered the ring, raising Jim's hand.  The two then hopped on opposite turnbuckles, and held their titles up high, as the show came to a close.
