Home News Shows Roster Championships

    "Hello, ladies and gentlemen, Stevan Corber, here.  We are just a two and a half weeks away from MWL Conquest, and Michael Jamborgh still has yet to announce his plans for what he has described as the single most vicious structure in professional wrestling history!  What kind of havoc will be unleashed come Conquest?"  Stevan asked.

    * * *

    "Damn him!"  Yugo growled, kicking the wall.  "Lino, tonight you get Nicholas Hunter, one-on-one.  Champion versus champion.  Admittedly, it's a non-title match, but still, I want you to take that bastard out!  If he can't make it to Conquest, Michael will have no choice but to award the title back to me!"

    "Are you sure about that, Yugo?  When the Underground Championship got disabled, he didn't exactly hand the MWL World Heavyweight Championship over to you."  Lino answered.

    "No, but damn it, I earned it anyway!"  Yugo shouted.

    "Oh, yeah, because climbing a ladder and stealing the victory while everyone else is distracted is REAL difficult."  Lino snorted.

    "SHUT UP!"  Yugo bellowed.  "Alright.  Now, Scott is going to face Jim Norris, tonight, too.  This is our chance for the X to destroy Free Radical!  If we pull this off tonight, Jamborgh's plans are finished!"  Yugo laughed.  "Let's make sure it all falls apart for him, shall we?"

    * * *

    "Let me know when we're on."  Michael Jamborgh stated, looking past the camera before him.  "Now?  Okay."  With that, Michael took in a deep breath.  "Ladies and gentlemen, it has come to my attention that last night, there was an altercation between former MWL World Heavyweight Champion, Kairez, and a member of MWL management, and former MWL North American Champion, Shane Warner.  In addition, security had to break up a confrontation between Allan Martel and Anthony Jacobs.  With that said, tonight we will feature a divergence from MWL's standard tag team division, to bring you a special bout tonight.  It will be Allan Martel teaming up with Shane Warner to do battle with Anthony Jacobs and Kairez.  Enjoy the show."  Michael stated.

    "Hello, ladies and gentlemen, Stevan Corber here, and yes you heard right!  Tonight, one time only, Allan Martel and Shane Warner join forces to face Anthony Jacobs and Kairez!  Now, everyone, please welcome the current reigning MWL World Heavyweight Champion, Nicholas Hunter!"  Stevan announced.

    "Hey."  Nick grinned, approaching Stevan.

    "Nicholas Hunter, tonight you face MWL North American Champion Lino in a non-title champion versus champion match.  Your opponent just happens to be the very man you held tag team gold with some time ago.  Do you feel you're prepared to face your former tag team partner?"  Stevan asked.

    "Stevan, this is Lino we're talking about, okay?  The same one that can battle Genbu for obscene amounts of time."  Nick stated.  "Quite frankly, I think I'm gonna get the crap kicked out of me.  But the match isn't for the title, so I really don't have anything to lose."

    "Alright, thank you, Nick.  Scott Froelich versus Jim Norris is up NEXT!"  Stevan announced.

    Match 1: Jim Norris v. Scott Froelich

    "So, Mike, you made the match, right?"  Shane asked.

    "Yeah, I did."  Michael answered, turning in his chair to face Shane Warner and Allan Martel.  "Now, I can understand Allan and AJ going at it, but Shane, what happened with Kairez?"  Michael asked.

    "He called me a pathetic champion, since I lost the North American Championship just a few days after I won it."  Shane answered.

    "Well, Kairez lost his title on his first defense, too.  The only difference was he didn't defend it until about a month after he won it in the first place."  Michael groaned.

    "Oh, that's right, he did..."  Shane muttered.

    "Now Allan, this is a chance for you to work Anthony Jacobs down and soften him up before Conquest.  You think you can do it?"  Michael asked.

    "Oh, yeah!"  Allan answered.  "AJ doesn't stand a chance!"

    "For your sake, Allan, I hope not."  Michael sighed.

    * * *

    "We're up next, AJ."  Kairez stated, approaching Anthony.

    "Shut up.  You may be fine in matches like this, but I don't do tag team matches.  I'm only concerned with the well-being of one person.  Me."  AJ snorted.

    "Don't you dare start with me, kid."  Kairez snapped.

    "Just back off before I kick your ass."  AJ answered.

    "Now, you listen here.  I have held more championships just here, in the MWL, then you will in your entire career.  My name, alone, could crush you."  Kairez growled.

    "Oh really?"  AJ grinned.  "Prove it.  Next week, you and me, one-on-one."

    "You're on."  Kairez answered, turning and making his exit, as AJ silently nodded.

    Match 2: Allan Martel and Shane Warner v. Anthony Jacobs and Kairez

    The symbol of the X flashed on the titantron, as Yugo Ryan and Melissa Rez appeared on the stage, making their way to the ring.  Yugo grabbed a microphone from ringside and stepped into the ring, as Melissa followed him.  "Michael Jamborgh!  I demand you come out here right now and tell me what in the hell I'm doing at Conquest!"

    "You want to know that bad, huh?"  Michael asked, appearing on the stage.  "Well, I'll tell you right now, then..."

    "That's more like it!"  Yugo grinned.

    "Settle down.  Don't go jumping the gun, there.  I'll tell you right now, that just like everybody else, you'll have to wait until next week to find out."  Michael announced, grinning.

    "WHAT?!"  Yugo shouted.  "You can't do that!"

    "Bet me.  I just did."  Michael laughed, making his way backstage, as Yugo began to throw a mild tantrum in the ring, as Melissa tried to comfort him.

    "Ladies and gentlemen, Stevan Corber here, just moments away from tonight's MWL Redline main event!  Tonight, Nicholas Hunter and Lino, both singles champions now, and former tag team champions together, in the past, will face off in a non-title champion versus champion match.  Now, please welcome, at this time, the MWL North American Champion, Lino!"  Stevan announced.  "Lino, at Onslaught, you defeated Kouryuu by submission in just over four minutes to win the MWL North American Championship.  Tonight, you face your former tag team partner, and the current MWL World Heavyweight Champion in Nicholas Hunter.  What are your thoughts?"

    "Stevan, I've always been able to beat Nicholas, ever since Normandy split up.  Always.  But damned if he hasn't always made it difficult.  Do I think I'll beat him?  Most definitely.  Do I think it'll be easy?  Not by a long shot."  Lino stated.  "Now, if you'll excuse me, my match is coming up."  With that, Lino made his exit.

    "Champion Versus Champion is NEXT!"  Stevan announced.

    Main Event: Champion Versus Champion - Lino v. Nicholas Hunter

    As the referee handed the two championship belts back to their respective holders, Lino stepped out of the ring and began to make his way to the back, as Nicholas Hunter stood, and posed in the ring with the MWL World Heavyweight Championship belt.  As Lino reached the stage, he stopped and stared back at his former tag team partner.
