Home News Shows Roster Championships

"Ladies and gentlemen, tonight, the card for Dead Heat, this Sunday, will be finalized, with the last semi-final match in the MWL North American Championship Tournament taking place in the main event, tonight."  Stevan Corber announced.  "And now, please welcome at this time, one of the men competing to be the first-ever MWL North American Champion, 'Mr. Reality' Shane Warner!"  With that, Shane quickly did a jig up to Stevan's side.  "Shane Warner, in just four days, you will be given the chance to go down in history, when you compete in the North American Championship Tournament Final, where you will be facing the winner of tonight's main event.  What are your thoughts?"

"Well, Stevan, first of all, I'm pretty much guaranteed to face a lightweight, which means I've got a pretty good chance of walking out the champion!"  Shane announced.

"Then, about the incidents where the titantron keeps getting hijacked during the show, you and Michael seem to know who's behind those incidents, but why haven't you announced the hijacker's identity?"  Stevan asked.

"Well, Stevan, y'know, Michael is starting to see the X for what they are: a threat."  Shane answered.

    "A threat?"  Stevan repeated.

"That's right.  Think of it this way, Stevan...the X contains five of the biggest names in the MWL today: World Heavyweight Champion Yugo Ryan, former tag champs Lino and Catastrophe, then last, but not least, the legends that are the Norton Brothers."  Shane explained.  "They have the means to capture all of MWL's championships.  Without having a double champion."

"I see your point..."  Stevan muttered.

"I knew you would."  Shane answered, patting Stevan on the head.  "Now, shut up."

    * * *

"How could you do that?!"  Catastrophe demanded, yelling at Lino.  "We're supposed to be on the same team, right?  Why did you throw Tiananman back into the ring at the ten count?!"

"Well, I thought you could make it back into the ring in time..."  Lino answered, looking down the hall as the rest of the X approached.

"What's going on, here?"  Yugo asked, the MWL World Heavyweight Championship belt around his waist.

"I'm still pissed because Lino cost us our match last week!"  Catastrophe shouted.

"Yeah, and?"  Yugo asked, as the Norton Brothers stopped, shortly behind the champion.  "Lino and I held the tag titles together.  Remember that you were GIVEN your title.  You didn't earn it."

"Feh!"  Catastrophe snorted, crossing his arms and turning away.

"Now, then, Red, Spike, you guys get the Asian Persuasion, tonight.  Think you can handle 'em?"  Yugo asked.

    "'Course!  No problem!"  Spike answered.

"They're getting to be a pretty formidable tag team.  You should probably not take them so lightly..."  Yugo muttered.

"Daw, nobody can stop us, Yugo!"  Spike smirked.

"Whatever."  Yugo sighed.  "Nortons, get to the ring.  Lino, Catastrophe, you two are coming with me."  With that, the Norton Brothers continued toward the ring, while the remainder of the X headed back toward the locker rooms.

Match 1: The Asian Persuasion v. The Norton Brothers

"Hello, Stevan Corber here, with the voice of Genbu, please welcome at this time, the 'Red Sparrow' Suzaku."  Stevan announced, as Suzaku and Genbu approached.  "Suzaku, tonight, Genbu will defend the MWL-CAW Championship against Free Radical's Nicholas Hunter.  Now, what are your...I mean, Genbu's...thoughts on the match in just a moment?"

"Stevan, Nicholas Hunter has pulled some huge upsets in his time here in the MWL, but the problem is this...nobody can defeat Genbu.  Absolutely no one."  Suzaku stated.  "Genbu is quite possibly among the, if not the, most powerful human beings, if you can call him that, in professional wrestling today."  Suzaku paused to look at Genbu, who was patting his championship belt, slung over his shoulder.  "Michael Jamborgh can send Free Radical, the X, Instant Epic Win, Militant Wing, the Asian Persuasion, ANYONE, after Genbu, and absolutely nobody will be able to take what is his."

    "And--"  Stevan began.

"Shut up!"  Suzaku interrupted.  "Nicholas Hunter, be prepared, because tonight, in just a few minutes, you will be torn apart."  With that, Suzaku and Genbu made their exit.

"Genbu defends the MWL-CAW Championship against Nicholas Hunter--"  Stevan began, as Free Radical approached.

"You called?"  Nick asked, as Jim and Amy looked on.

    "No, I just--"  Stevan began.

"I thought I heard my name."  Nick stated.

    "You did, but--"  Stevan pressed.

"Whatever, shut up."  Nick sighed, smacking the microphone out of Stevan's hand.  "I have a match."

    Match 2: MWL-CAW Championship - (C) Genbu v. Nicholas Hunter

As Genbu stood over Nicholas Hunter, holding his MWL-CAW Championship up in triumph, the symbol of the X flashed on the titantron as the entire group emerged on the stage, making their way to the ring.  Genbu saw them approaching and slid out, as did Nicholas Hunter.  As all six members stepped into the ring, Yugo Ryan grabbed a microphone from ringside, and moved toward the entrance ramp.  "Michael Jamborgh!  You saw that pathetic display earlier tonight, I know you did, so get your ass out here!"  After a moment, Michael Jamborgh appeared on the stage, looking impatient, with Shane Warner at his side.

"What do you want?"  Michael asked.

"You can't let the Asian Persuasion climb their way up in this company by count-outs!"  Yugo shouted.  "We demand a match that will end with either a pin or a submission, nothing else!  The Norton Brothers and the Asian Persuasion in a tag team match, no disqualification, and falls count anywhere!"

"You got it."  Michael answered with a shrug.  After a moment, Chance made his way onto the stage behind Michael and Shane, look at the two.

"Well, since we're all out here, demanding matches, and whatnot..."  Chance began.  "...I want a shot, one-on-one with Genbu, for the MWL-CAW Championship!"

    "Alright."  Michael shrugged.

    "Seriously?  That's it?"  Chance asked.

"You, mister 80's, get your--"  Yugo began, as his microphone cut off, and the arena went pitch black, with a single spotlight shining on the titantron, as the familiar green cursor blinked on the screen.

"Prepare, my time is nigh."  Appeared on the screen as the cursor paused for a moment.  "At Dead Heat, there will be three..."

Yugo shouted, indistinctly, at the titantron as the message continued.

"...Only one will emerge from the wreckage.  He who does so will carry with him, the MWL World Heavyweight Championship."  Appeared, as everyone in the arena looked on in awe.  "You can think you are ready, Yugo Ryan, but you cannot truly be."  The text disappeared as a loud, heavy, "click" rang out of the speakers, as the lights faded back in, and the countdown on the titantron's screen lowered ever more.  Yugo proceeded to mouth out something more, looking to his title belt afterward, as everyone made their exit.

Main Event: MWL World Lightweight Championship/North American Championship Tournament Semi-final - (C) Jim Norris v. David Hitz

As Jim Norris rolled out of the ring, Amy Kaldahl walked over to him, as he looked to the MWL World Lightweight Championship, now in the hands of David Hitz, as he stood.  As David stood in the ring, celebrating, Shane Warner's theme blared through the arena, as he appeared on the stage, looking toward the new champion.  Shane mouthed out something, then proceeded to point at David, and motion toward his waist, followed by a laugh.
