MWL Uprising - November 18, 2007

Home News Shows Roster Championships

Anthony Jacobs vs. Viper

"Viper, you and me, the two of us have quite the history. Shane wanted me to let everything between us go when we came to this promotion. But, heh, I can't. Viper...you and me...we're mortal enemies. Given the chance, I'd kill you, and I'm sure you'd do the same." AJ paused, as Viper kept his eyes on AJ. "Now, I know it will be you and me in the tournament final, but I can't wait another month to tear your head off. Sunday, Viper! At Uprising, you and me, one-on-one!" AJ demanded.

Viper nodded in reply as AJ continued. "I know management is still looking for another match for the card, so there's no worry about us not getting the opportunity to tear into each other, but...why wait?" AJ asked, throwing the microphone down and charging at Viper, knocking him down with a blow to the head.

David Hitz & Byakko vs. the Norton Brothers

"Stevan, I'm gonna say this once, 'cause I don't feel I have to run 'round repeatin' mahself, like some o' those other boys on the roster. Now, I been watchin' real close lately, and I've gotta say, right here, right now, that former Lightweight Champion, David Hitz, is a HACK!"

"Well, now, I think after that, we need to see if Spike can put his money where his mouth is, eh?"

As Spike stood over his fallen opponent, celebrating, Red Norton joined him, coming down the ramp. Spike began to lift David up, and picked him up, getting ready for a Norton Brainbuster. As Spike prepared to drop him, Byakko charged down the ramp and slid into the ring, just as Spike dropped him and fled, with Red Norton leaving with him.

MWL-CAW Championship: Genbu vs. Shane Warner

"Oh, yeah, I'm facing Genbu for the MWL-CAW Championship." Shane answered.

"You're already in the North American Championship Tournament, Shane..." Michael sighed.

"But, picture it! Going in to Dead Heat with the CAW title on my shoulder, I win the tournament final, and then I get two titles around my waist. Michael, take the journey with me!" Shane urged, sounding almost whimsical.

"No, I'm good." Michael stated, after a long pause. "Well, I suppose it could draw a crowd... Alright, you get the match. But good luck getting that title away from Genbu." Michael muttered. "Wait a second...that only gives us five matches. We still need one more."

The Asian Persuasion vs. Instant Epic Win

As Allan and Christopher celebrated their victory, Tiananman struck Allan in the back of the head with a steel chair, as Kentan grabbed Christopher's ankle, pulling him to the floor. Tiananman stumbled to the ring, still exhausted, removed a table from underneath, and slid it into the ring. He went back to searching under the ring, finding another table and sliding it in, as well.

Tiananman made his way over to Allan Martel, and slid him back into the ring, as Kentan slid Christopher in. Tiananman grabbed one of the tables and propped it up in the corner, and slumped Allan against it, walking over to the far corner. Tiananman crouched for a moment, before charging forward, and performing a Cannonball on Allan Martel, forcing him through the table.

Kentan lifted up the remaining table and set it up, turning around and climbing to the top rope as Tiananman set Christopher on top of the table. Kentan braced himself before leaping onto Christopher Martel, driving him through the table. Kentan rolled away from the wreckage, holding his stomach, and forcing himself to his feet. The Asian Persuasion then stood, victorious, over their opponents.

"So then Viper will have four." Michael announced. "Alright, the first qualifier will be Panzer and Anthony Jacobs versus Catastrophe and Christopher Martel." When Michael finished that statement, AJ lunged forward and struck Chris Martel, knocking him down. AJ picked Christopher up, by the head, and hurled him into the brick wall of Michael Jamborgh's office, backing away, and posing, before walking out. "Damn it! Catastrophe, Chris is in no shape to compete. I guess you're on your own..." Michael sighed.

"Aaw, it's nothing. It's not like I haven't competed with worse things than sore ribs..." Allan began, being interrupted by a hard axe-handle by none other than Anthony Jacobs. Allan fell to the floor, as Stevan backed away. AJ crouched and waited for Allan to work his way to his feet, in front of the chain-link fence background of the interview area. Allan finally stood, and turned to face AJ. AJ smirked, and charged, full-speed, into Allan, slamming him into the background, and knocking it over.

AJ stood, as Allan laid, unconscious, on the chain-link background. AJ began to circle Allan, while also looking for a new weapon to use. He quickly grabbed a chair, and raised it high, slamming it down onto Allan's chest, as security arrived, pried the chair away from AJ, and pushed him back. He began to back off, admiring his work, and slowly left as the medical staff arrived to attend to Allan.

MWL World Lightweight Championship: Scott Froelich vs. Jim Norris

"I'll get you, David! Mark my words! I'll get you!" Jim shouted, throwing the microphone into the audience.

"David, what the hell happened to you?" Michael demanded, trying to help up the Lightweight Champion, laid out amidst camera cables and various debris.

"I...I got hit from behind..." David groaned.

"Jim Norris, do you think you're tough, just because you attacked David Hitz from behind? Huh?" Michael demanded, as Jim looked back in confusion. "Yeah, I know it was you. At Domination you made your intentions to attack the man pretty clear."

"What are you talking about?!" Jim shouted.

"Jim, for attacking that man, next week, here on Redline, in that ring, it'll be you, one on one, with Genbu!" Michael announced. "And your lackey down there, is banned from the arena!"

* * *

"You have until the contract signing next week to prove you're innocent. If you can, I'll put you in the match. But if not..." Michael began, implying the obvious.

"Alright, guys, all you have to do is sign the contract. David, you sign here." Michael began, pointing to one section of the page. "And Scott, you sign here." Michael continued, pointing to another section. David quickly scribbled his signature, followed by Scott. Scott then asked for the microphone from Michael.

"By the way, David. It was me that attacked you. Not Jim." Scott grinned, as Jim Norris' music blared. Jim Norris and Nicholas Hunter then came charging down to the ring, chasing Scott out of the ring.

"Scott, for causing this whole mess, I'm adding Jim Norris to the Hell in a Cell match at Infection!" Michael announced.

As Scott Froelich stumbled up the ramp, holding the MWL World Lightweight Championship, he turned to face Jim Norris and David Hitz. Hitz was laid out, and Norris was pulling himself to his feet. Jim looked back out toward Scott, then made a gesture around his waist, symbolizing the title. "It'll be mine again, Scott!" Norris shouted.

As the cage lifted up away from the ring, Jim Norris stood on the middle turnbuckle, holding the Lightweight Championship in one hand, and taking a microphone in the other. "This is my championship!" Jim shouted. "This title belt is my destiny, and nobody can change it! Yeah, not even you, Vritska. Now, it'll be just a matter of time before Free Radical wears the tag team gold!"

"Alright, Scott Froelich, the games are over, now! At Extinction, you and me, one on one, the way it should have been from the beginning! For the MWL World Lightweight Championship here, you and me, Scott, one on one, in a First Blood match! You bleed, you lose."

As Scott stood, the MWL World Lightweight Championship in hand, he wiped the sweat away from his face. He smirked, and stepped out of the ring, and began to make his way toward the backstage area as Jim Norris began to pull himself to his feet, his face covered in blood. He then demanded a microphone.

"Scott!" Jim shouted, short of breath. "You and me...one more time...TLC...at Uprising!" Jim shouted, before collapsing onto the mat.

"You're on." Scott replied, grinning.

MWL World Tag Team Championship: SYN vs. Seiryu & Kouryuu

"You see, there lies the problem. WE didn't lose the tag team titles. The Norton Brothers lost the tag team titles." Kouryuu announced.

"The MWL World Tag Team Champions, myself and Kouryuu, defend against not only the Norton Brothers, but Magnum and Chance, as well. But then, Chance pinned Red Norton." Seiryu explained.

"Then, we've got the #1-contender's match where Seiryu and Kouryuu will take on the Norton Brothers. The winners will be given the title of #1-contender to the MWL World Tag Team Championship." Michael announced.

"Well, there's some business we need to attend to, Michael." Shane answered, lifting up a set of papers, and handing them to Michael. "I was approached earlier by not only the Martels, but by the Ssu-Ling, as well. It seems they both want their respective matches to take place in a steel cage."

As Genbu stood in the ring, victorious, his championship belt in hand, Seiryu, Kouryuu, Byakko, and Suzaku made their way to the ring to celebrate the sign of things to come, as Lino rolled out of the ring, slinging his MWL World Tag Team Championship belt over his shoulder as Suzaku grabbed a microphone.

"On July 29th, 2007, we, the Ssu-Ling stole the show at Goldlust. We walked out with three title belts, and #1-contendership to a fourth. SYN, Shane Warner, Norton Brothers, beware. On Sunday, history will be echoed, and we will rule Uprising!" Suzaku announced as the team's theme blared.

"Hello, and welcome, everyone, to MWL Uprising! Danny Tieso, here, with my broadcast partner, Chad Vritska!" Danny announced. "Tonight, our opening bout is between two Cross-Atlantic Wrestling alumni, now working in the MWL. Those two are both former CAW Champions, in 'The Hazard' Anthony Jacobs, and Viper. The two of them both came with Shane Warner for the North American Championship tournament."

"Anthony has made his presence painfully obvious, assaulting Instant Epic Win and removing them from their respective qualifiers for the tournament. He then went on to assault one half of the MWL World Tag Team Champions in Catastrophe." Chad stated.

"Then, just Wednesday, Anthony challenged Viper to a match, before proceeding to attempt to assault him after his North American Championship Tournament Quarter-final match with reigning MWL World Lightweight Champion, Scott Froelich. Viper, however, avoided Anthony's attempt to use the Longinus, which sent Anthony into the ringpost." Danny continued.

"Now, I'm being told that Stevan Corber is standing by with Instant Epic Win." Chad explained.

* * *

"Hello, Stevan Corber here, with Instant Epic Win, who, later tonight, will face the Asian Persuasion in a steel cage match." Stevan announced. "Gentlement, what are your thoughts, and why did you request that the match tonight take place inside a steel cage?"

"Well, Stevan, it's really quite simple. Both Allan and myself have been assaulted by that pompous son of a bitch, Anthony Jacobs. Even though he has a match tonight, that hasn't stopped him in the past, why would it stop him, now?" Christopher asked.

"That's true, so what do you have to say to Anthony, then?" Stevan asked, as Allan took the stage.

"AJ, can I call you AJ? No? Too bad, AJ." Allan rambled. "I've noticed you're a very arrogant young man. And, here in the States, just about everyone is. And it's always unjustified. Back home in Canadia, men fight tooth and nail to earn the right to say they are above all others. You have achieved nothing, AJ. So, in that off chance that you do win and become the first-ever MWL North American Champion, then the very Redline afterwards, it'll be you and me, one-on-one." Allan stated.

"Alright, let's head to the arena for our opening bout!" Stevan announced.

Match 1: Anthony Jacobs v. Viper

"And Anthony Jacobs dominates his long-time rival." Danny announced.

"Our next bout features an MWL tag team mainstay facing a rag-tag team in the Norton Brothers facing the team of David Hitz and Byakko." Chad stated. "This team started several months ago, just before Goldlust when Jim Norris assaulted Byakko, and David Hitz came to his aid."

"Last month, at Extinction, as the Norton Brothers were preparing to assault David Hitz, Byakko returned the favor. With the North American Championship Tournament in full swing, there was just no time for this bout, but here at MWL Uprising, these two teams finally get a chance to go at each other." Danny explained.

"And now over to Stevan Corber, who is standing by with Genbu's challenger tonight, 'Mr. Reality' Shane Warner." Chad stated.

* * *

"Hello, Stevan Corber, here, with Shane Warner, Genbu's challenger for the MWL-CAW Championship tonight." Stevan announced. "Shane, why have you decided to face Genbu tonight, knowing that Genbu is undefeated, to this day, since his debut over a year ago?"

"Well, Stevan, there comes a time in every man's life when he has to face a monster. Either by force, or by choice. For me, that time is now." Shane answered.

"But Shane, you had that 45-day long reign with the TV Championship that Genbu ended in his debut, and just over a month later, you cost him that title in a table match against Rod Friedman." Stevan pressed.

"Look, Stevan. I was the beginning of Genbu's streak, and so help me, I will be the end of it, too." Shane growled, knocking the microphone out of Stevan's hand before making his exit.

Match 2: David Hitz & Byakko v. The Norton Brothers

As the trio celebrated in the ring, the lights faded, and a single spotlight focused on the titantron, which still bore the countdown in the bottom corner. It continued to count farther and farther down, as Yugo looked on, a look of concern on his face as the lights turned back on.

* * *

"And it seems that the Norton Brothers are the newest additions to Yugo's group dubbed 'The X'. But here's a question." Danny began. "What is with those cryptic messages directed at the MWL World Heavyweight Champion these past two weeks?"

"Well, judging by the reactions of Michael Jamborgh and Shane Warner after the first messages, it seems that they know what the purpose is, but they haven't told anyone, yet." Chad answered. "Why they'd keep it from the public is beyond me."

"Speaking of Shane Warner, when Genbu debuted here in the MWL back on August 2, 2006, his first match pitted him against then-TV Champion, 'Mr. Reality' Shane Warner, himself. Shane, having underestimated Genbu, was defeated in record time: 47 seconds, and in the process, lost the TV Championship to Genbu." Danny stated.

"Just over a month later, Shane interfered in a title defense against Rod Friedman, assisting him in putting Genbu through the table to win the match." Chad continued. "And now, for the tale of the tape. The champion, Genbu, stands six-feet, nine-inches tall, and weighs a staggering 279 pounds. He is a former three-time TV Champion, two-time Underground Champion, reigning and defending MWL-CAW Champion, and has been undefeated since his debut over a year ago."

"The challenger, 'Mr. Reality' Shane Warner, stands six-feet, five-inches tall, and weighs 248 pounds. He is a former one-time TV Champion, two-time Underground Champion, two-time CAW Champion, and is the first man to fall to Genbu." Danny announced. "Now, let's head to the arena for the title match!"

Match 3: MWL-CAW Championship: (C) Genbu v. Shane Warner

"And in a fantastic showing, Genbu's streak remains intact." Chad announced. "And now, as the structure is lowered, it's time to introduce our next contest, a tornado tag team steel cage match."

"Several weeks ago, on MWL Redline, Instant Epic Win defeated the Asian Persuasion in a clean match. Tiananman and Kentan proceded to assault Christopher and Allan Martel and put the both of them through tables, leading to a tornado tag team tables match as Extinction a month ago, which the Asian Persuasion won." Danny explained.

"After Extinction the MWL North American Championship Tournament began. Chris and Allan Martel were both in bad shape after their match at Extinction, but still decided to take their positions for the tournament's blind draw." Chad stated. "Immediately after the draw, Anthony Jacobs assaulted Christopher Martel, removing him from his qualifier that night, and leaving Catastrophe to face AJ and Panzer alone."

"The following week, Anthony Jacobs assaulted Allan Martel moments before his qualifier tag team match with Seiryu against Shane Warner and David Hitz." Danny continued. "Then, sometime before Redline this past Wednesday, Instant Epic Win requested the match take place inside a steel cage, so as to prevent Anthony Jacobs from assaulting either of them again."

"Alright, I'm being told that the steel cage in the arena is ready, and that the first of our two steel cage matches will begin shortly." Chad stated. "Alright Danny, who do you think is gonna win?"

"Well, I don't know." Danny answered. "Instant Epic Win seems like they're pretty confident tongiht, so..."

Match 4: Steel Cage - Tornado Tag: The Asian Persuasion v. Instant Epic Win

"Alright, Danny, pay up." Chad smirked, as Danny grumbled, pulling money out of his wallet and angrily handing it to Chad. "Heheh..."

"Our next bout is a TLC match for the MWL World Lightweight Championship. This has been in the works for some time, now, with the conflict between MWL World Lightweight Champion Scott Froelich, and former champion Jim Norris, reaching as far back as MWL Domination in August."

"That's right, and now for the tale of the tape for this championship bout." Chad announced. "The champion, Scott Froelich is currently in his second reign as MWL World Lightweight Champion. He is a former TV Champion, and two-time Wild Rush Champion. He stands six-feet, three-inches tall, and weighs 217 pounds. His preferred finishing move is the Mad Drive."

"And the challenger, 'Slim' Jim Norris, stands six-feet, three-inches, as well, and weighs 216 pounds. He is a former three-time Wild Rush Champion, and three-time MWL World Lightweight Champion. Jim Norris' favorite finishing move is the most spectacular move in the MWL, the Radical Crash." Danny announced.

"Alright, Danny, who do you think is going to win THIS one?" Chad asked.

"Piss off." Danny snapped. "I'm not betting on these guys, anymore."

"Really? Not even for a hundred?" Chad asked.

"Piss off." Danny repeated.

"Alright..." Chad sighed. "But if you did, who would you bet on?"

"Jimmy." Danny answered.

Match 5: MWL World Lightweight Championship - TLC: (C) Scott Froelich v. Jim Norris

"GOD DAMN IT!" Danny yelled, as Chad laughed.

"Alright, we're going into our final match-up of the evening." Chad announced. "This is for the MWL World Tag Team Championship, and is a steel cage match between the team of SYN, and the Ssu-Ling's Seiryu and Kouryuu."

"The champions, SYN, weigh in at a combined weight of 516 pounds. Lino stands six-feet, ten-inches, is a Tag Team Champion, and two-time Underground Champion. His favorite finishing moves are the Spike Suplex, and the Faceplant. His tag team partner, Catastrophe, stands six-feet, five-inches, and is a former Underground Champion, and five-time Wild Rush Champion. His favorite finishing move is the Tilt-A-Whirl Knockout." Danny announced.

"The challengers, representing the Ssu-Ling, weigh in at a combined weight of 527 pounds. They are not only the longest reigning MWL World Tag Team Champions, but the heaviest, as well. Seiryu stands six-feet, six-inches, and is a former Tag Team Champion, having held both incarnations, along with Kouryuu. His preferred finishing moves are the East Flood Slam and the Dragoncrash. His partner, Kouryuu, stands six-feet, seven-inches, held both incarnations of the Tag Team Championship with Seiryu, and is also a former TV Champion. His favorite finishing moves are the Void Whisper and the Dragonlock." Chad explained. "It is also worth noting that, as a team, these two have never been defeated."

"Now, let's go to Stevan Corber, who is standing by with SYN. Stevan?" Danny asked.

* * *

"Thank you, Danny. Stevan Corber, here, with the reigning MWL World Tag Team Champions, Lino and Catastrophe, SYN!" Stevan announced. "Gentlemen, is there anything you'd like to say before your match?"

"Yeah, Stevan, there is." Catastrophe barked, stealing the microphone from Stevan. "Seiryu, Kouryuu, there's no way in HELL you'll beat us, tonight! And even if you do, it won't last long. If we don't get those titles back from you, the Norton Brothers will! Ssu-Ling, we, The X, have more backing in the tag team division than you do, so, heh, hell, we could go to an HT5 match, with you, us, and the Nortons, hmm?"

"Quit wasting your breath, Catastrophe. Come on, we've got some asses to kick." Lino stated, making his exit, as Catastrophe threw Stevan's microphone down the hall.

"Go get it." Catastrophe commanded.

"Catastrophe!" Lino called, as Catastrophe made his exit.

Main Event: MWL World Tag Team Championship - Steel Cage: (C) SYN v. Seiryu & Kouryuu

As Lino made his way out the door, as Seiryu and Kouryuu carried their regained titles up the ramp, Catastrophe grabbed a microphone from ringside.

"Enjoy those titles while you can!" Catastrophe called. "Because at Dead Heat, we'll be coming for our rematch!"

"You pick any match type you want, little man!" Seiryu called. "It doesn't matter what it is, we'll walk out with these belts still on our waists!"
